Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains what you pay for on BetterForYourPocket, when it is charged, how to stop it, and when money comes back. It forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to everything you can buy here: subscriptions, one-time AI credit packs, Support purchases and Founding Supporter seats. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number. BetterForYourPocket is a platform operated by H&S Technologies Inc. from the Province of Québec, Canada, registered as H&S Technologies Inc. (Québec enterprise number 1182417445), 7615 rue des Métis, appartement 1013, Québec (Québec) G2K 2J6, Canada. BetterForYourPocket has its own Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy and Community Rules: these documents govern this platform only. Any other platform or service operated by the same company is a separate service with its own terms and its own personal-information holdings, and using one does not create an account, an entitlement or a data relationship on the other.

2. Subscriptions: price, term and automatic renewal

Paid plans are sold as a monthly or a yearly term at the price shown on the pricing page and confirmed at checkout, in US dollars, plus applicable taxes. Payment is taken in advance for the whole term. THE SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY at the end of each term, at the then-current price for the same term, and your card is charged again, until you cancel. There is NO free trial: access and the charge both begin at checkout. We give notice before a price or plan change that would apply to your next renewal; a change never affects a term you have already paid for.

3. How to cancel

Open the Account page and use "Manage billing" — this opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can cancel immediately and without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the term you have already paid for: your paid features stay available until the end of that term, and the account then returns to the free plan. You can also cancel by writing to us before your renewal date, and we will do it for you. Deleting your account also cancels the subscription.

4. Refunds

A refund request is answered by the FACTS of the account, never by how it is worded, and there are two different situations.

If something actually went wrong, you are refunded — no window, no conditions. That means: the same subscription charged twice; a payment that settled while the plan was never applied; a monthly credit allowance the plan promises that never arrived; a charge taken after you cancelled; a substantial failure on our side that stopped you using what you paid for; or a charge you did not authorise. Write to us and we correct it. These are corrections, not goodwill, and nothing below limits them.

If nothing went wrong and you simply want to stop, that is a discretionary request, and how much you used matters. For a payment made on or after September 15, 2026, we look at what the paid period actually delivered — credits spent against the allowance it granted, and paid-only features used: • used 25% or less, and asking within 14 days of the payment: refunded in full; • used between 25% and 60%: we may refund the unused part, at our discretion; • used more than 60%: no discretionary refund. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep the access you already paid for until the period ends.

We publish those numbers because a rule you cannot check is not a rule. We would rather name the limit than have you discover it in our answer.

Payments made before September 15, 2026 keep the promise they were made under: the first subscription payment is refunded in full if asked within 14 days, with no reason required and regardless of how much of the product was used. That applies for the whole of that payment's window whenever you ask. We do not narrow a promise backwards onto people who already relied on it.

How to ask: write to betterforyourpocket@gmail.com from the address on the account. We answer every request, we tell you which of the two situations above applies and why, and a request that is unclear, unusual, large, or the second one from the same account is decided by a person rather than by a rule. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe, which your bank typically posts in five to ten business days. Renewals and partial periods are otherwise not pro-rated.

5. Your rights under consumer law are not waived

Nothing in this policy removes a right that consumer-protection law gives you where you live. In Québec, the Consumer Protection Act gives consumers rights in distance contracts, including in cases of misrepresentation or where the merchant does not perform its obligations, and those rights apply in addition to what is written here. If a mandatory rule where you live gives you a longer or broader right than this policy, that rule prevails.

6. Upgrades and downgrades

You can change plan from the Stripe customer portal. An upgrade takes effect immediately and the processor charges the difference for the remainder of the current term. A downgrade takes effect at the next renewal, so you keep the higher plan for the term you have paid for; downgrading does not produce a refund of the difference. Plan limits apply from the moment the new plan takes effect.

7. AI credits

This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: nothing renews and nothing is charged again. Credits are added to your balance when the payment settles, are usable only on BetterForYourPocket, and are not exchangeable for cash. Credit packs are one-time purchases and are NOT refundable once the credits are added to your balance, except where the law requires it or where the credits were never delivered — if a payment settled and the credits did not arrive, tell us and we will add them or refund the pack. Purchased credits do not expire while your account exists and are not removed by the monthly reset of the free allowance. Each plan also includes a monthly credit allowance, which is part of the subscription and not separately refundable; on the free plan the allowance resets each month rather than accumulating. Credits are not money, cannot be transferred between accounts, and are not redeemed for cash on cancellation. If an AI run fails on our side, the credits reserved for it are returned to your balance automatically.

8. Support purchases and Founding Supporter

Support and Founding Supporter purchases are one-time commercial purchases of the product benefits described on the page. They are not donations, not investments, not securities, and not a loan. They convey no ownership, no share of revenue or profit, no interest, no voting right and no expectation of any financial return. They are one-time charges, so nothing renews and nothing further is taken. Because the benefits are granted at once, these purchases are not refundable except where the law requires it, where the purchase was duplicated or made in error, or where a promised benefit was not delivered — in which case tell us and we will deliver it or refund the purchase. Founding Supporter benefits are attached to the account that bought them and are not transferable.

9. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, the processor retries it over the following days. During that period your plan is marked past due and you keep your access — cutting you off mid-retry would penalise a payment that is about to succeed. Update your card from the Stripe customer portal to resolve it. When the retries are exhausted, the subscription ends, the account returns to the free plan, and free-plan limits apply from that moment. Nothing further is charged, and your data is not deleted because a payment failed.

10. Disputes and chargebacks

Contact us before opening a card dispute — a refund we issue directly is faster than a chargeback and does not put your account at risk. While a dispute is open we may suspend paid access and pause new purchases on the account, and we will give the payment processor and the card network the records needed to answer it. Chargebacks raised in bad faith, or on a service that was delivered and used, may result in termination of the account and refusal of future purchases.

11. Your account and your data after cancellation

Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account. When paid access ends, your account continues on the free plan and your data stays: watchlists, alerts, positions, research history, community profile and posts remain, subject to free-plan limits on how many are active and on what you can create. Nothing is deleted by cancellation alone. If you want your data removed, delete the account from the Account page — that is permanent and cannot be undone — and export your data first from the same page if you want to keep it. Payment, refund and dispute records are retained after deletion for the period tax and accounting law requires, as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. How to reach us about billing

Write to betterforyourpocket@gmail.com from the email address on the account, with the date and amount of the charge. We answer billing requests as quickly as we can and always within 30 days. If we refuse a refund, we will tell you why in writing and tell you what recourse you have.
