Community Rules

BFYP Network is where members of BetterForYourPocket publish research, opinions and questions, discuss assets, and message each other. These rules form part of the Terms of Service and apply to every community surface: posts, comments, theses and their revisions, votes and reactions, profiles and handles, uploaded images, reports, and direct messages. Joining is optional — a community profile is created only when you first choose to publish something.

Investment opinions published by members are theirs alone. BetterForYourPocket does not endorse them, does not verify them, does not adopt them, and does not recommend acting on them. A member is not an adviser to you, and no relationship of advice, agency or trust is created by reading, following, voting on or messaging one. Nothing on the Platform is personalized advice. The Platform does not know your financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance, tax position or holdings beyond what you type into it, does not assess suitability, and produces the same analysis of the same data for every member. Any figure, score, ranking, alert or AI answer is general information about public data, not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or avoid anything. Treat what you read here the way you would treat anything a stranger tells you about money: as one person's view, unverified, possibly wrong, possibly self-interested.

Your handle, display name, biography, interests, avatar, posts, comments, theses and their revision history, and your follower and following lists are PUBLIC by default. Assume anyone can read them, including people who are not members and search engines where the page is public. Your handle is your permanent address in the community and cannot be reused by someone else. From your profile you can narrow three of these, and the controls are identical on every plan: you can restrict your PROFILE PAGE to signed-in members, so that everyone else sees only your handle; you can take yourself out of the member directory, member search, room member lists and every suggestion of who to read or talk to; and you can decide who may start a new conversation with you — anyone, only members you follow, or nobody. What none of them does is take back something you already published: your posts and comments stay where you wrote them, under your handle and avatar, and remain readable by anyone who can read that page. To remove something you published, delete it. Conversations already open continue after you change these settings, because both of you agreed to them when they started; to end contact with a member, block them — blocking is stronger than every one of these settings and works in both directions. Moderators keep the access they need to investigate a report whatever you choose. Direct messages are private between you and the member you write to, except that we may examine a message that has been reported to us in order to act on the report. Do not publish anything you would not want permanently associated with you.

Say what you actually think, and make clear what you are claiming. If you hold a position in something you are writing about, say so. If you are quoting or paraphrasing someone else, attribute it. Do not fabricate performance, holdings, credentials or track record; do not present a guess as a measurement or an opinion as a verified fact; and do not present anything you write as BetterForYourPocket's analysis, position or endorsement. A thesis you publish keeps its original claim and its original disproof condition visible — revising a view as evidence changes is normal and expected, and the history stays on the page.

Never: run or promote a scam, a fraudulent scheme, a fake giveaway or a fake token or offering; make investment claims you know or ought to know are false; fabricate returns, holdings or a track record; coordinate promotion of an asset, or post to move a price you or an associate stand to gain from; solicit money, deposits, transfers or payment of any kind from members, including "managed accounts", "signal groups", "mentorships" and private trading offers; present yourself as a licensed adviser, broker or portfolio manager unless you truly are one and say where you are registered — and even then, do not give personalized advice through this Platform; or offer to trade, invest or hold anything on another member's behalf. BetterForYourPocket does not intermediate anything between members: if you send money to someone you met here, you are on your own, and no protection on this Platform covers it.

Do not impersonate another person, a company, a public figure, a regulator or BetterForYourPocket, whether through your handle, display name, avatar, biography or the content of a message. Do not ask any member for a password, seed phrase, private key, recovery phrase, one-time code, card detail or government identifier — no legitimate reason to ask exists here, and we will never ask you for one. Do not send links intended to deceive, links to credential-harvesting pages, or malware. Private messages from strangers are where this happens most: we deliberately never turn a link in a direct message into something clickable, and you should still not act on one.

Do not post repetitively, mass-post the same content, or post advertising, referral, affiliate or promotional links. Do not send unsolicited commercial direct messages. Do not use bots, scripts or automation to post, comment, vote, react, follow or message, and do not create additional accounts to amplify yourself, to manipulate votes, reactions, counts or reports, to evade a suspension, or to appear to be several people. Reporting content you simply disagree with, or organising reports against a member, is itself an abuse of the reporting system.

No harassment, threats, intimidation or stalking. No hate speech or attacks on people for who they are. No publishing another person's private information, including a person's identity behind a wallet address, home or workplace address, phone number or private communications. No sexual content, no content involving minors, and nothing illegal. The Platform shows public blockchain activity; that is information about addresses, and it is never a reason to target a person.

Every post, comment and message can be reported, with a reason — scam, spam, fraudulent claim, harassment, impersonation, or other. Reports go to a person for review; the number of reports on an item never removes it automatically, because a count is not a verdict and a report button that removes things is a tool for silencing people. An item that reaches the review threshold may show a neutral notice that members have reported it, which says what the community did and never that the claim is false. We may remove content, restrict or suspend a member's ability to post, comment, vote, report, message or upload, disable an account, and, where the law requires or permits it, preserve information and cooperate with a lawful request. Moderation outcomes are recorded against the account. A member whose access is restricted can still read.

Write to betterforyourpocket@gmail.com with your handle and what happened. A person will review it and answer you. If content of yours was removed in error, we will restore it. We do not disclose who reported an item — telling a member who reported them is how a report becomes retaliation.

You keep ownership of what you write. By publishing on the community you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, display, moderate, back up and distribute it within the Platform for as long as it stays published, and to keep the records that moderation and legal obligations require. You confirm you have the right to post what you post and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. You can delete your own posts and comments at any time; a deleted item leaves an anonymous placeholder so the thread still reads, and your name comes off it. Deleting your account deletes your community profile and your published content.

Some accounts in the community are not people, and are always labelled as such: BetterForYourPocket's own account may post an automatically assembled comment under a question nobody has answered, which links to material that already exists and states outright that it is software, holds no opinion and describes no investment experience. That same account may also publish, at most once a day, an automated question about market activity BetterForYourPocket observed on its own platform — the totals it states are measured from our own records, the post says what it measures and what it does not, and it asks a question rather than offering a view. These automated posts are assembled by a fixed rule, not written by a person and not generated by an artificial-intelligence model; they are labelled on every surface, they are not member opinions, they are not our analysis of what you should do, and they are not financial advice or a recommendation. They can be reported and moderated like anything else here, and you are free to disagree with them in the replies. Illustrative seeded accounts, where present, are labelled and are not real members. Nothing in the community is a person unless it is labelled as one.
