How do I know that it’s legit ?

I keep seeing stocks and crypto projects getting hyped online, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually worth looking into and what’s just noise. What are the first 2/3 things you check before putting money into something? Any obvious red flags?

  • Honestly, this 👏 The first thing I check is who actually controls the supply and when they can dump it on everyone else.

For crypto, check DeFiLlama or Token Unlocks. If the team + VCs control 50%+ and a big unlock is coming soon… you might just be the exit liquidity 💀

For stocks, check EDGAR for dilution. If they’re constantly printing new shares just to survive, that’s a huge 🚩.

And then ask: does anyone actually use this thing? Check GitHub for real dev activity, not a dead repo. For stocks, forget the PR hype and look at actual cash flow.

Instant pass for me: 🚩 Influencers shilling with zero substance 🚩 “Guaranteed 10x” or ridiculous fixed APYs 🚩 Anonymous devs promising “revolutionary AI” with no track record or audit

If your gut is already saying “this feels like a pump & dump”… listen to it. 🫡
